Analysis of front cover/contents page/feature article

In this front cover, Katy Perry dominates the page and covers the name of the magazine, suggesting that she is the main feature in the magazine, stars increase the profit and sales. The colour scheme is pink, black and white, and also simplistic showing that it is aimed at a female audience. She is looking directly at the audience (direct address) as if she is inviting them in. The difference in fonts decides which things are more important or should be looked at first, visually interesting.

Encourages the reader to read on, due to bight colours highlighting the important stories and lack of detailed information. The images dominate the text, this allows the audience to graze along, page numbers are provided with images. The main picture uses direct address to invite you in. List of the contents of the magazine in sections.

Headlines and captions used to explain story and catch the audiences interests. Celebrities are used to make a story better, one image of celeb domination the rest, outlining the leader of the group. Writing is clear and easy for the reader to follow (informal). Title is a text grab. Red, black and white used to outline genre of rock.
