Jessica, well done, this is a good start. You need to be working on this blog in your own time in order to keep up witht he tight deadlines. You need to get your research complete by thursday's lesson in order to allow you maximum time on production work. You must start the planning activities by the end of this week. If you have any worries, questions etc, then see me.

Conventions of a music magazine
- The image of the magazine must fit the content and the target audience
- The name of the magazine should also do this
- The colour scheme should appeal to the target audience and create a 'house style', also reflect of the genre.
- Should include stars and celebrities, people like to hear about other peoples lives
- Mode of address: the way in which a text creates a relationship with its audience. The most common is direct address, this is when the person on the cover looks directly out of the magazine - inviting the reader in. the opposite of this is indirect address. Mode of address is also the writing in a magazine, usually friendly and informal.
Preliminary Task
Reflection
Things I could have done better:
- Given the person more head room while taking the picture
- spent more time cutting out the person (the person has a white line around them)
- Spent more time thinking of a good name for the magazine
Things I like:
- The font of the magazine name
- the colour scheme
What I have learnt:
- Every little detail counts, if one thing messes us it can look really rubbish.
- How to use InDesign and Photoshop correctly

Initial ideas
My ideas for my music magazine are to do a rock/indie magazine, for example: Kerrang and NME. the colours would be neutral to make the photos stand out, also to match the genre. The two page spread would be an Q&A interview with a new upcoming band. The contents page would be white to indicate that it is different to the rest of the magazine, providing clear information and photos.
