Conventions of a music magazine

• The image of the magazine must fit the content and the target audience
• The name of the magazine should also do this
• The colour scheme should appeal to the target audience and create a 'house style', also reflect of the genre.
• Should include stars and celebrities, people like to hear about other peoples lives
• Mode of address: the way in which a text creates a relationship with its audience. The most common is direct address, this is when the person on the cover looks directly out of the magazine - inviting the reader in. the opposite of this is indirect address. Mode of address is also the writing in a magazine, usually friendly and informal.
